We visit this local cooking school courtesy of our guide, Mully of Noosa Bali Tours, as part of our Balinese food tour. It was interesting to find such an establishment located in a family home complete with vegetable gardens, fruit orchards and free range chickens.

While we did not participate in a cooking class, we were offered a cooking demonstration. The chef shared insights into basic Balinese spices and demonstrated their use in various savory dishes. We also exchanged notes about several local desserts and recipes.

At the end of the demonstration, we were treated to a variety of dishes including satay, soup, curry, rice, pancake rolls and banana fritters. We enjoyed this opportunity to learn more about Balinese culture through its cuisine and ingredients. By livingroundtheworld

Jukut Urab, a Favorite Menu of Balinese People

This jukut urab offers a good flavor and is easy to prepare. It is called jukut urab because the spices are mixed together with vegetable before serving, not during the cooking.
